This is a highly responsible division head position appointed by the Sheriff, and reports directly to the Major of Support Services. Work includes supervisory and management oversight of all aspects of the Alachua County Combined Communications Center, the Alachua County Sheriff's Office Information Technology Unit, and the False Alarm Reduction Unit. This division operates 24/7 and employs approximately 120 full-time civilian staff with an annual budget of approximately $7,000,000. The Combined Communication Center serves the Alachua County Sheriff's Office, Alachua County Fire Rescue, the Gainesville Police Department and Gainesville Fire Rescue, in addition to law enforcement dispatch for the Waldo and High Springs Police Department.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
This is a full-time command-level position with an annual salary range of 69,260 - 111,833. Starting salary is commensurate with experience. The minimum eligibility requirements are at least five (5) years of progressively responsible and high-level management experience. Superior knowledge of the needs of law enforcement, fire and emergency responders or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Degree in related field is preferred.
