Police Chief City of Westworth Village Texas




Westworth Village, Texas, is seeking a new Police Chief. The City of Westworth Village, with over 3,000 residents, is located along the banks of the Trinity River, just 7 miles west of downtown Fort Worth. The City, with 49 employees, has a FY 2014-2015 general fund budget of $3.1 million.

Westworth Village is a Type A, General Law City governed by the Mayor and 5 City Council Members. The Police Chief reports directly to the Mayor, and serves as an officer of the City.  The Westworth Village Police Department is comprised of 14 sworn officers including the Chief, and 5 personnel assigned to a 24-hour communications dispatch division. The department also employs 2 part-time officers and a school crossing guard. The annual operating budget for the Department, including Crime Control and Prevention District funds, is $1.58 million.

Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field required. Eight to ten years documented law enforcement command experience as a Lieutenant or above required. County and/or military law enforcement experience accepted. Graduation from the FBI National Academy highly desired.
